Default 'Van Wilder' - High-Def Digest review

Kenneth's review of 'National Lampoon's Van Wilder' is up. While he didn't care for the film itself, he says even die-hards are likely to have a tough time with this Blu-ray release. The video transfer is flat and dull, and the supplements (while plentiful) are exceedingly superficial and repetitive. The disc's one bright spot is a four-star 7.1 PCM audio mix, but still he says it doesn't add enough value to save this high-def train wreck.

Great, and I was planning on buying this movie, until I see it's only worthy of 2 stars for PQ... Thanks Ken, you saved me $24 and frustration I'll release on someone else...

Only 1 great title from Lionsgate on BD, The Desent! Hope they stay BD exclusive till they start releasing good content.

Wait a minute... Tara Reid won an Oscar? Four of them? Not according to her IMDB profile.

I watched this movie around one month ago and man it was horrible and boring! Only 1 scene made me laugh ! and i dont think that is enough to buy it on BD.

Crank was good too, it's one of the best looking Blu-rays out there. Lionsgate need to get thier shit together though, they've messed up a lot of titles I would have loved to own on Blu-ray with horrid transfers.

Has anyone seen this that will agree with the reviewer? I really enjoy this movie and was let down to see the review. I already had ordered it but its not too late to cancel it.

I checked around and some posters on the message boards echo my sentiments. Also, our friends at DVDTalk gave the 'Van Wilder' Blu-ray a similar review -- http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=29838

Hope that helps.

Thanks for always helping !

I always (if not mostly) trust in Ken's reviews, and in my opinion DVDtalk is a bit bs (they gave Tears of the Sun a 2/5 for PQ and AQ )

As I read it, I believe that was intended to be a joke...

Smile Am I crazy?...

...or was he being sarcastic when he said Tara Reid was a "four time Oscar winner"?

I couldn't disagree more with his assesment of this movie. As I was reading it, I was almost thinking we weren't talking about the same movie.

I found it very funny throughout, the characters VERY likeable and actually many heart warming moments as the characters grow and such. I am not saying this is Oscar worth, but believe me you will thoroughly enjoy this movie. There are more funny lines that I can remember. I have watched this movie many times and look forward to watching it again. If you like comedies and Ryan R. then its a true no brainer.

MAIL IT IN!!!!
