Default 'Ratatouille' -- pre-release buzz

In a rather unexpected announcement, Disney will debut 'Ratatouille' on Blu-ray day-and-date with the standard-def DVD November 6:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/ratatouille.html

Specs look strong, with 1080p video and PCM 5.1 audio, plus a new documentary, deleted scenes, Pixar short and a special "Cine-Explore" mode exclusive to the Blu-ray.

List pride is $34.95.

Everything Pixar I want, but especially this one!

Without having had a release date before now, I had wondered which honorable title I would make the first in my HD library in celebration, Ratatouille or that sumptuous, drool-inducing 5-disc Blade Runner. Now I know!

(Now, if only I can figure out how to scrape together the cash to get an actual player (or two?), HDTV, etc. and join the HD club...)

Well it looks like Nov 6th is the day I finally buy a Blu-ray player.

I've been avoiding both formats, but 2 Pixar movies and a set of animated shorts in 1080p is just too good to pass up!!

Yay! The number one film of the year, according to Rottentomatoes! I loved it!

I haven't seen the movie but will definitely purchase it based on the fabulous reviews and the Pixar's track record.

I thought this movie was pretty good, so I'll pick it up. I don't see how this announcement was somewhat "unexpected"? lol.

I am going to be all over this movie on day one. Haven't seen it yet.

I'm a little bummed to hear that Cars has been delayed again until November. I can't help but wonder why Disney has pushed that movie back so many times now. You'd think they'd realize the quicker they get some of these big releases out, the quicker this format war might be over.

This film was a masterpiece. Can't wait to get it on Blu-Ray, along with Cars.
