Thumbs up 'Gridiron Gang' -- High-Def Digest review

Yet another feel-good sports movie on Blu-ray:

Better than I expected, especially The Rock, who is quite good. Excellent transfer and soundtrack, too. I'm starting to really give MPEG-2 a re-evaluation...

Thanks for the review, Peter. One question - you mention on the review that it is BD50, but the disc details list it as a single-layer disc. What is it?

Ugh, the specs on the left were a typo. It is a BD-50, thanks for noticing. The review has been fixed!

The Rock has skills. I've yet to see him deliver a bad performance. The material isn't always good but he always brings a bit of charisma to his role.

Im looking forward to this one not because of the movie itself but because it has good PQ reviews from a few sites. But the street date for this is listed for january 16th not 23rd on target/amazon.com

I just ordered it just a few minutes ago.

I think just because the Rock is from WWE, he gets a lot of undeserved heat from Hollywood. Its like they don't take him seriously. The guy is great...even in the movies that weren't that good.

Just watched it. fantastic movie. However, the sound is so so. The dialoge is clear and great. The sfx are clear as well. The music however, seems muted to low to me.
