Default 'Vacancy' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Vacancy' is up. While he found the film itself somewhat middling, he says the video and audio on this Blu-ray release are both first-rate, and there are even a couple of notable goodies in the fairly slim supplements package.

Nice. I'll probably rent this from Blockbuster.

I have this on pre-order. I can't wait! Thanks Peter!

PS: Why is this so high?

Do you actually own a BD player? Do you Buy BD's with the intent of owning a BD player in the future? Just curious.I think this could be a whole sub-forum; Do you already own HD-DVD but plan on going neutral? I think that the majority of posters would fall under this category.

This is a SONY title and so it should run just fine on a European machine. Pretty much all of the Sony discs are region free.

Just got Starship Troopers on Blu Ray by the way. It came out here (UK) yesterday. The image quality is very nice. Fine detail is very good compared with the standard DVD. You can see al, of the stiching on the uniforms of the troopers etc etc. Though I would say that it isn't as big a difference over the standard def version as say The Patriot was.

Looking forward to getting Vacancy. Missed it in theatres...

No that's the problem ...
Not all Sony Titles are Region Free... The old catalog is always region free
but some news titles are region coded (Premonition for example... )

Great news for Starship Troopers, I'll go order mine now

What you say about the Sony discs is odd. I have just over 70 Blu Ray discs. Each and every Sony title that springs to mind is region free. Though I have to be honest, I'm using a US PS3 so who knows. Although all of the UK discs that I have bought have been region free...

Enjoy Starship Troopers mate. It's good like I say. Apparently, The Island is also out over here, tho I can't find it anywhere.

Have bought Con Air, Air Force One, Crimson Tide and The Patriot recently on UK disc and they've all been very impressive. Aint bought The Rock tho because it's bound to be the "cut" UK version so will wait for the US release...

i saw the 1080p Trailer from te PSstore, the PQ was pretty bad, i guess it was just the trailer since it got a 4.5/5 for PQ!!

I might rent the DVD since my Blockbuster doesnt have any Blu-rays.

i got this on DVD for a really low price. I am watching it now, the quality is pretty good for a DVD. If i like the movie (I have only watched around 20 min of it) I will buy it on Blu-ray.

Has anyone actually confirmed the region yet? HDmoviesource.com lists it as A only. Thanks.
