Default 'Disturbia' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Disturbia' is up. He says this Blu-ray release is solid but not exemplary -- the video transfer is fine, the audio is better, and the supplements may be strong in number (and in technical quality), but they're superficial to the point of vapidity.

my only complaint is the cover art. I thought the original poster was cool and prefer that over the one being used on the video releases!

I thought it was a decent movie, the mystery parts of it were cool but everything else was 'meh'.

I'll probably just end up renting this at some point, it's just not a good enough movie to buy.

I got this a couple days ago. I thought it was a pretty good movie with pretty good PQ. Review seems spot on.

i saw this in theaters and was really surprised to enjoy it so much. I didnt like Shia when I first saw him on tv and film but hes come into his own as of late. I think he'll be around for quite awhile. I already preordered this blu ray awhile ago so waiting on it to arrive

Shia's such a great actor.

I'll be renting this first though, and going from there.

Same here. Other sites say the pq was quite good. But...I will place my bet on Peter's review.

it was a very entertaining movie, if, like the review said, you don't go in with any real expectations. After this review, I will probably pick it up.

There are no real defects with this movie's PQ, its just not very stunning. Colors are kinda bland and there is no real pop. I'd say its similar to Shaun of the Dead's HD DVD PQ. I saw it in theatres but I wan't really paying attention to the film quality so I can't compare. The girl is some fine eyecandy

On the HD-DVD version, I would have liked to have heard a report on whether Mr. Bracke did a comparison audition of the D.D. and DTS track which are both delivered at 1.5 mbps to determine whether they sound the same or different in their deliverance in a strictly 5.1 listening set-up. This is the first disc of any type that I know of that allows one to listen to both codecs at a equal mbps level.

Got my copy yesterday and watched most of it last night. No indication of any region coding on the case.

I think it's excellent PQ, almost on par with Black Snake Moan - very natural look to it. Just the subdued color in most scenes doesn't make it pop like BSM. For my setup - PS3 outputting Bitstream to my Onkyo 605 receiver for decoding - the DTS 6.1 was much more clear & distinct sounding then the DD+ 5.1, and my speaker system is only 5.1.
