Default 'Full Metal Jacket: Deluxe Edition' -- pre-release buzz

Though it wasn't apart of their initial announcement of the high-def 'Kubrick Collection,' Warner is also re-issuing 'Full Metal Jacket' on Blu-ray:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/fullmetaljacket_dc.html

It's billed as a "Deluxe Edition," though there is no information on what, if any, the new extras will be. Or if the film has been truly remastered or otherwise upgraded.

Hopefully, though, given the "Deluxe Edition" tag, we'll get something new...

I hope that the transfer would be an upgrade over the other BD.

That's cool and all, but isn't that supposed to be Joker in the pic? I don't remember him being a machine gunner.

I guess the M-60 just looks aesthetically cooler drapped over the shoulder than an M-16. I think that cover just looks odd after only ever seeing that classic "helmet-collage" design. It just doesn't look right, but hey I understand it has to look radically different from the previously released edition.

I've been actively seeking any Kubrick reviews. Haven't come across 1 yet.

I heard that 2001 is great ! No edge enhancement as was feared... but that is the only thing that I have heard so far about any of these titles. I have the first FMJ on HD-DVD so unless this is an upgrade from that I will just stick with what I have.

I just got this last night and compared it to the first version. It does look better...with a better color saturation and a cleaner picture. I'm not sure it was worth the doulbe dip but they always get me with that so I only have myself to blame. Anybody else get it yet?
