Default Close Encounters of the Third Kind

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070726/...NoIAuoUxpxFb8C

Looks like a November 13th date and a $50 MSRP -- from the Reuters article:

Quote:
"Close Encounters of the Third Kind: 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition" also includes a new interview with Spielberg, a retrospective documentary and, exclusive to the 50GB Blu-ray, new "storyboard-to-scene" comparisons and the original 1977 "Watch the Skies" featurette.

Through a process known as "seamless branching," the Blu-ray version contains all three films on a single disc. The process identifies the differences between each version of the film, segments the footage and then arranges it into three unique playlists so that footage used in all three films is only included on the disc once -- minimizing space requirements.
Hey Universal, where is Jaws again?

well i have a feeling we will be seeing atleast one spielberg movie on hd dvd before the end of the year now.

even though i prefer hd dvd, its great that finally one of spielbergs classics is being released on a high def disc what ever format it may be. and a good movie at that not like when 1941 was the first one of his movies to be released on standard dvd.

50 bucks is mighty steep though even with 3 versions of the movie, (but worth it to be sure, just alot of average buyers wont want to)
so if 50 is the msrp is it a good bet that it will prob retail for about 39.99 to 45.99

enjoy this great movie bluray users, iam actually a little jealous
just a little though haha

Yeah I'm really excited for this!!! Hopefully the dual format people who support both will get lucky and we get Jurassic Park or Jaws on HD-DVD from Universal. I'd kinda like to see Jaws maybe with that The Shark is Still Working documentary that has been done, and is trying to find someone to release it. Wishful thinking, but still great news.
