Default 'Immortal Beloved' - High-Def Digest review

Kenneth's review of 'Immortal Beloved' is up. Boasting strong video quality, an excellent TrueHD track, and a small smattering of interesting supplements, Kenneth says fans of this Beethoven biopic will be extremely happy to see how well it has made the transition to high definition.

This has been a favorite of mine for years. I'm glad to hear the good news about the PQ and AQ. I can't wait to buy it!

Really?
And someone told me that Tears of the Sun does not have a French PCM 5.1 soundtrack.

Hm, only a BD 25 disc and no english PCM 5.1 track. If Sony is going to support TrueHD, they could at least put on the PCM as well (like they did on Ghostrider and the remastered Fifth element), as we know the Samsung wont decode TrueHD as PCM...

Agreed. This flick and Dracula were my favorites of all his films.

And also his role in Professional. This is no brain to buy if it is in Blu Ray. Do you know who distribute "Professional"?

'Leon: The Professional' is a Sony title.

Lucky I found it. Looks like HD Digest forgot to post a link to this review on the main page.

i'm surprised it isn't out, seeing as a large portion of the Superbit sony titles have been put onto Blu, and LEON: the professional had TWO superbit releases, just like Fifth Element did. weird.

wow i just saw this movie. As a piano player of 13 years myself, i really found an appreciation for this film. The picture looks great and it does not look anything like a 13 years old film.

13-year-old movies don't look all that different from current ones, of course.

I've wanted to see this a long time; I never have, though I do have and enjoy the soundtrack. I hope this BD will provide my first viewing of the movie, and soon!

It's listed on Amazon - it was just $15 a week or so ago, but it's back up to reg price now. I wish I bought it at that time, but will have to on the next sale.

Gary Oldman is one of the greatest actors of our time and I would say that IB's success is largely due to Oldman's amazing performance.
