High-Def Digest Tackles Football Movies

We're only a couple weeks into the football season. In order to celebrate the return of the gridiron and possibly take our minds off of the atrocious replacement NFL officials, here's a rundown of some great (and not so great) football movies.

Sad to see The Replacements make this list, instead of the movie it blatantly and completely ripped off, Necessary Roughness. I also like North Dallas Forty.

Really suprised not the see The Program, and The Longest Yard (the old one, although the new one wasn't as bad as I thought it might be) on this list. And of course I also love Necessary Roughness, but I can understand it being left off a bit more. But any one of these three I would put way above Leatherheads, which I found to be terrible.

I completely forgot that Billy (Lady Sings the Blues) Dee was in Brian's song. I'm 45, so I remember watching that in school every year from the year after it came out to like 1980 (Old Yeller too)
