I agree, as there are already comparisons to Star Wars. Batman Begins is like A New Hope. An excellent movie, starts off the trilogy with a bang. The Dark Knight is like The Empire Strikes Back. The best of the trilogy. It sets the bar extremely high with its story telling, making it one of the best movies ever made. Then you have The Dark Knight Rises and Returns of the Jedi. A flawed movie, but a great ending to a great saga and leaves everything off with a satisfying conclusion.
I disagree about it being Nolan's weakest movie. That goes to Insomnia. That was my first Nolan movie and would have been my last had he not done Batman Begins.
Honestly though, I bet TDKR would have been an entirely different movie had Ledger not died. I wished they had at least showed a scene of Joker walking down an alleyway from behind or something. Just to show us that he is still there."...somewhere out there, michael bay now has the basis for his next film...and it's all your fault." - project-blu -

Avengers was good. Otherwise, this summer has pretty much been a bust.
Prometheus is an astoundingly stupid and awful movie on every level. There's no defending that turd.
How is it my mistake to expect the third movie in the series to maintain a constent level of quality with the first two?Sure, it isn't as good as The Dark Knight, but if you went in expecting it to be, then that is your problem.
I don't hate Dark Knight Rises like I hate Prometheus, but it's a very sloppy, dull movie. The plot is filled with holes and basically makes no sense at all, and there's a solid 90 minutes in the middle of the movie where nothing at all happens. Seriously, who thinks it's a good idea to make a 3 hour Batman movie with barely 10 minutes of Batman in it?Josh Z

i can't help but feel disappointed that Nolan isn't going to go against his own rulings for once and make a director's cut for this film. the scene that Lindy Hemming discussed would've been one of the best portions to the film, and its inclusion would've further increased the mirroring relationship of Bruce Wayne and Bane.
all things considered, i fully stick by my earlier assessment that this is an excellent film, but i'm going to long for that added piece for a while, now that i know of its existence. -

The Dark Knight Rises is entertaining, but it is sloppy in places. I think part of the problem is the part with Bruce Wayne in prison because it kind of glosses over that he's been in there for months, but the flow of the movie makes it seem like a lot less.
The Dark Knight is also a bit sloppy in places, but Ledger's performance is so winning that it really doesn't matter.Check out my HDD reviews or learn more about me here.

That is one of my three complaitns about the movie. The time jump really hurt the movie because suddenly they were 3 months into Bane's take over. I think they really could have helped it by using subtitles to tell us the months or something.

IMO this is a minor quibble. I knew 3 or whatever months had passed. There were plenty of clues for the viewer to see that. Overall, it's a minor quibble for an otherwise amazing movie IMO.
I liked this movie BEST over the previous two. IMO the previous movie left way too many questions and I hate when movies do that.
Rises exceeded all my expectations and even surpassed them. -

Of course the other movies left questions, they were not the ending. This movie is an ending, so everything was tied up. However, why did Bruce just suddenly stop becoming Batman after the end of TDK? That just seems stupid and out of place.

He wasn't needed anymore & seen as the 'bad guy' now. I thought that was extremely obvious from the ending of the previous movie to the intro of Rises, at least to me.
Maybe I am naive, but Rises had many scenes that complete took me off guard. There were dialogue I was not expecting. Add all these together and it just made for an awesome movie. Any flaws were just minimal to me overall. -

Priceless. As a big (or, even, huge) Chris Nolan fan this one ranked as one of the biggest let-downs in recent memory. It is really a movie I wish I could un-see.
