No thanks. Way too pricey and I have 90% of what I would want out there anyway.

This looks like a pretty cool set, but I am sure just like many others, I own half or more of these titles and would be flushing my money buying it for the same content.

I'll pass. I already own quite a few of the included films, and there are a few that do not interest me. So, considering what it would cost me, it's probably smarter to simply purchase the remaining films I want seperately. Doing it this way will also get me the DVD and digital copy for most titles, so I believe it's an all-around smarter decision.

You had me, until you told me the price. Then, you lost me! No thanks.

funny....it has 17 more movies than the Harry Potter collection but is something like 200 dollars LESS. lol
but yeah i can't see who would get this, i imagine in most people's case there;s maybe half that they like. not to mention the fact most already have all or most of the movies they'd want anyway.
and what the hell is up with those last few movies? i guess they wanna represent modern times to really hit 100 years but seriously, Fast and the Furious? lol -

I agree. Some of the titles chosen for this set are beyond strange. Sure, quite a few make sense, but nearly half of them are old blu-rays that were simply repackaged with 100th Anniversary slipcovers this year.
And, yeah, those last titles are... I don't know what they were thinking there. Uni could've picked so many other discs (some of which were also part of the Uni100 re-issues at the beginning of the year; a few of which were totally new discs) to represent Uni's more modern output. Like, I don't know, "Atonement", "Ray", "Billy Elliot", "Brokeback Mountain", "A Beautiful Mind", "Erin Brockovich", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". Heck, the remake of "The Mummy" would've been a better choice than either "Mamma Mia!" or "The Fast and the Furious."Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?

I'm right there with you. 'Mama Mia' in the same set as 'The Birds',lol. Never would have thought in a million years that such a classic like 'Spartacus' would be in a box set with 'Despicable Me',lol
The movies you recommended would have been better choices....WAY BETTER CHOICES,lol. But I guess Universal is trying to attract every potential buyer they can get so they are throwing a very wide range of genera, from different eras, in the box set. Hence 100 year anniversary. My mancave:

Hey I love that movie!
Great set for someone who doesn't have any of those movies. I generally try not to spend more than $15 on a BR nowadays (Disney titles for my daughter are an exception sometimes though). I was somewhat spoiled by the DVD trade-in program at Best Buy and got 10 BRs for $5 a piece.
If the set hits under $150 I may consider it. But even then it would take some convincing to get my other half to agree.

Warms my heart to see Breakfast Club in there.

Why the book?! I really do not like the book style box sets they've been making. While nice looking for display, it makes me worry when removing and inserting dvds/bds :/

Shrewd move including the Mexican version of Dracula in this set as it's not of the Monsters Box Set.
Unfortunately I own a good chunk of this collection on either HD DVD or blu so definietly not in the market for this set. Still, dang, the Spanish Dracula sure does makeit tempting.I don't care what the white mon say, Santa Clause was a black mon.
