Default 'High Fidelity' - High-Def Digest Review

Steven Cohen has just reviewed one of my top 5 favorite films: 'High Fidelity'

He says the video transfer shows some signs of processing but it still looks quite solid. Audio is a little front-loaded, but this mix complements the story well. The film itself holds up very well. This Blu-ray is recommended.

In a career defining role, Jack Black is hilarious, lending the part of Barry his trademark comedic passion and furry.
Jack Black is a bit hairy, but I'm going to venture that the word "fury" was intended.

I love how Chicago it is. If you're into the Chicago music scene it's a landmine of cameos of album covers and whatnot.

John Cusack is a huge fan of The Clash and it's one of the reasons why they are referenced in almost every film of his.

"High Fidelity" looks much better than "Grosse Point Blank". Still looks like a dated master, but not offensively so.

Doing a double bill of this and GPB last night made me miss the old Cusack. He's been so supremely blah in his more recent movies ("The Raven" was exceptionally mediocre; "2012" may be one of the greatest comedies every made, but I don't think anyone involved in the production, including Cusack, seemed to know that while they were making it).
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Anne-Marie Sakowitz: No, they all share one.
