Default Vudu offers many exclusive 1080P movies and TV shows that is not available on Blu-ray

High bit rate 1080P Blu-ray with lossless audio offers the best quality when compared to Vudu. The problem is it appears that Vudu is more popular than the Blu-ray format since Vudu has a whole bunch of exclusive 1080P movies and exclusive 1080P TV series that is not offered at all on the Blu-ray format. There are several ABC TV series and other TV network programs available on 1080P Vudu that are not even offered on the Blu-ray format.

So for some movies and TV series consumers are forced to purchase streaming Vudu options if they want the best quality. This is not good for the Blu-ray format. Hopefully one day Vudu might offer lossless audio quality instead of the existing lossy audio it now offers. Also maybe one day Vudu will increase its quality and offer Blu-ray 50GB streaming images or downloading images as Internet speeds keep increasing. Verizon FIOS offers up to 300Mbps download speed packages now.

Really? That is a true statement? VUDU is more popular than BD because it has some exclusive content that BD doesn't?

Almost all new TV's offer video streaming and video streaming is standard on all new 2012 Blu-ray players. One would need to compare Blu-ray discs sells to Vudu movie sells to verify if Vudu is more popular or not. For the exclusive HD titles of course they are more popular. My point is that it is bad that movie collectors if they want to own a 1080p/24 version of several movies and TV series they are forced to either go with Vudu or boycott them. As time goes on the exclusive Vudu titles might increase as studios push streaming HD over optical disc HD.

For example only season 4 of Grey’s Anatomy was released on Blu-ray in true 1080p/24. But Vudu offers seasons 1-8 of Grey’s Anatomy in true native 1080p/24 to own. I could list at least 50 more examples.

Possible there might also be some exclusive 1080p/24 Blu-ray movies that Vudu might never offer.

We have seen some of their 720p movies already - just upconverted crap, wrong aspect ratios, poor sources. So we can expect more of the same at 1080, woo hoo.
I find it impossible to believe it is "more popular" than Blu ray. Who exactly is being quoted here? If I buy a movie and enter the code, does this feed the statistic that I prefer Vudu? Should I be burning these codes?

Is this spam? Or does this have something to do with all those Christian movies HDTV1080P also likes to push?

Streaming is as much a threat to Blu-ray as the horrendous lack of Blu-ray recorders that is absolutely killing the format and that no one will buy into the format without.

What did you watch? VUDU's 1080p HDX files are generally just a small step below Blu-ray quality. They are also almost entirely in the OAR, except when a studio gives them a reformatted master. (Warner has kind of sucked about only providing 16:9 transfers lately.)
