Bet someone got the ziggy over this one.
P.S. I assume they send replacements without needing the originals? -

Just received this - useful for UK purchasers...
Nice one Amazon, and thanks Paramount/CBS tooSince you ordered this product, the manufacturer has confirmed that they have discovered technical issues with Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season 1 on Blu-ray. There is an anomaly in the English 7.1 DTS Master Audio track, resulting in an undesired playback experience when listening to some episodes in a 7.1 or 5.1 Surround Sound environment. In addition, the manufacturer is taking this opportunity to correct a few minor issues that were found on other episodes.
A corrected version of this product will soon be available and we are working to ensure that you receive a replacement copy of Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season 1 on Blu-ray as soon as possible.
Your complimentary replacement will be dispatched to the same delivery address as that used for your original order.
No action is needed from you and there will be no charge for this replacement.
The replacement will be sent out as soon as new stock of this item is received from our supplier. We'll send you an e-mail to confirm when your replacement has been sent, and you will be able to view the status of this order via Your Account at the top of any page on our website or use the following link:

Should I translate this to the studios hate America again? Such great service there but for us, we have to go the extra step.
I wonder what the other minor issues were and if they're included in the same discs already or if the UK gets the corrections and we do not? -

So, on one episode on Disc 2 (not done with the disc yet)...I think it was Lonely Among Us...I noticed that whenever there was a captain's log or first officer's log voiceover, it sounded echo-y... I don't think it could have been intentional... Also, the first scene of that same episode looked so awful I thought it must have been upconverted.

Also on Disc 2, episode Justice, right after Wesley runs off and they take everyone else into the "orgy" building... Liator says "Please, enjoy what we have!" This line "echoes" as well, and it does not sound natural/intentional.
So, there are definitely problems on Disc 2, which is not being replaced, but they are quite minor. One more episode to go on that disc...hope nothing major there.Pan 65" Plasma TC-P65V10 / Onk 7.1 TX-SR607 / Onk DV-HD805 / Pan DMP-BD60 / Tosh XD-E500

I heard a strange echo when Picard was talking on the bridge of the Enterprise during an episode on disc 5 (I think it was the episode where Tasha dies). I heard it through my rear right speaker and then it went to the front right speaker. It sounded like it was definitely not intended and was quite noticable.

It's this very issue that will make me not buy this set. I want it, but Paramount is terrible about recalling crap product and putting new corrected stuff on the shelves. every copy in Best Buy is guaranteed to be old, mistake laden discs. Any set bought online, you have to wonder, since so few people find out about this stuff.
I'll wait until I know stock was exhausted, a year plus down the line, and then get it in a goldbox deal when S2 comes out. Maybe.Nate Boss

Hoping to get a new cult for Christmas. Already tired of playing with the last one. -

I was able to find the echo on disc 5. It's right after they beam up Tasha after she's been killed. It shows Picard on the bridge and there's an echo when he says, "Go to yellow alert, Lieutenant." at 12 minutes 31 seconds (the episode is called "Skin of Evil"). This is on the DTS HD track. Anyone else experience this?

The Digital Bits posted this today:
"Now then... we've gotten word that shipments of CBS's fixed Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season One Blu-rays have been pushed into early September. The reason is that it seems one of the episodes on Disc Five was found to be missing a visual effect, so that's being fixed as well. We'll let you know when shipments start hitting the mail. "
We'll be waiting a long while

Then they'll realize the episode with the echo on Picard's voice. Lol. I pity CBS/Paramount but then again, nobody *tested* the product before saying ok, let's make a glass master?

Just got my four discs in the mail today, Discs 1, 3, 4, and 5. The packaging wasn't anything special, just a plain white cardboard envelope.

Got my discs on Saturday 9/1. I am in MAINE - distance does not appear to have much to do with it, probably filling orders by order they were received (?)
