Truly, they did an amazing job!
I can't justify the current price to buy it though. Hopefully will rent or borrow a friend's, who is definitely getting it.
I really hope they do the same for Deep Space 9 -

They are doing the whole series regardless. They've committed to doing them all this way before they even released the first season. However, paying the higher price point does tell studios "Hey, this is what we want done with our beloved shows and we're willing to spend for it."

You probably should replace every instance of "Paramount" in the review with CBS. CBS owns the TV rights and TV home video rights. They are the ones who committed to restoring the series, not Paramount (who owns the film rights). Also it was 13 SECONDS, not minutes, of SD video from "Sins of the Father"
Nice review, though! Glad it all looks great! -

I'm in a bit of quandary. I liked TNG but not enough to ever want to sit through every episode again. On the other hand I would love to own the Special Features by themselves. Any suggestions?

i know it'll be a good 3 or even 4 year wait but...i'm a sucker for collection so as much as i wanna check this out, i'll wait for the inevitable full series collection. i'm also hoping that by that time, prices will be better so it wont be like 600 dollars or something. lol
though Lost was only 130-150 and it was 6 seasons so i imagine it be similar. lol -

not sure thats really an issue. the season one set is a pretty average price for individual blu-ray seasons. at least as far as new releases are concerned. i know i've seen some people complain but to me its what i expected. maybe its because i'm in canada where we're ripped off regularly compared to US pricing but yeah. lol
but all that said, the full series is at least 3 years away so by then each individual season will already be much cheaper. maybe not the 7th assuming it comes out near or on the same day as the full series. to use Lost again.....you can get the individual blu seasons for 40 dollars or less now but they were all 60-80 when first released. (again i am speaking for canada lol) -

Normally I would agree Bouncy, but the original ST series seasons have been out for a while and they haven't really dropped much in price. These will probably be the same.

Been really looking forward to this set and the subsequent seasons. Especially Best of Both Worlds. The rumor for the Season 2 set is that we are going to get an extended cut of at least one episode- "Measure of a Man". I hope they can come through and do that with other episodes in future seasons too. This is how you restore TV. I wish this is possible with a show like Babylon 5. I'd re-buy that series in a heartbeat.
