Really, really unnecessary. Especially when the first release used a then brand-new remaster that looks absolutely amazing and simply cannot be improved upon.

Is the new retrospective really going to be worth it? I'm guessing no.
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Anne-Marie Sakowitz: No, they all share one.

    Another dip at it? SIGH.
And the cover art - is there any doubt?

They should box it in velvet with the original novel. Then I might consider.

What about the original typeface for the film title? I always felt it was pure genuis the way it mirrored itself to match that (original) cover art. New cover art or not, new remaster or not, they should've left the font alone.

I won't be double-dipping since the first one looks just fine to me.

Man, I haven't even gotten around to watching my original Blu-Ray. The new featurette sounds nice, but I'll wait for a review before deciding whether to upgrade or not.

Unfortunately that can be said for most double-dips. I guess studios think they have to keep double-dipping in order to reinvigorate sales or something. Most of the time it just winds up not being worth it and/or pissing people off in various ways.

At least it has SOME new content. Some of these "anniversary edition" double dips just have slipcovers.

I never even got around to getting the first Blu Ray release. Last time I watched it was on the old Criterion laserdisc.
