'Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D' release date????
Just wondering if anyone has heard anything whether this will be getting a release on Blu 3D? I remember reading earlier in the year that Lucas has stated that if BO ticket sales were not up to expectations...then the re release of the Star Wars flicks would be a one time thing....beginning and ending with episode I. Also heard it may be a Panasonic exclusive or a Best Buy exclusive.
I know this is not a 3D forum but there are more responses in this thread than the 3D forum. Thanks for all responses. My mancave:

In 6 year after All 6 films have been released theatrically in 3D, virtually everyone who will buy the current BD SW set has, and a sizeable amount of people can actually watch 3D in their home. It will be a boxset.

From what I recall reading, after about 3 weeks in theaters it had made about $40 million, so I'm assuming that's enough to release it on blu-ray and continue releasing the other films in 3D. Like I said in the other thread, Lucas would have been better off converting the original trilogy first.
I'd love to see the opening sequences of episodes 3 & 4 in IMAX 3D. I bet that'll look fantastic. Definitely not paying to see episodes 1 & 2 at the theater.

I wouldn't recommend buying it. If you have to own the movie, get the complete sagas set. The 3D on this movie was pretty much non-existent. In fact, the only thing that was actually in 3D were the subtitles. Everything else was not. I ended up taking my glasses off several times during the movie and you could barely tell that they blurred out the background to make it appear in 3D. I felt like I had paid just to watch my BD on the big screen, which was a major let down.
Oh, and do know, I am a 3D whore. I love 3D and prefer to seen any movie in theaters in 3D. As such, it has to be bad if I hated it."...somewhere out there, michael bay now has the basis for his next film...and it's all your fault." - project-blu -
