'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' 25th Anniversary Edition is coming March 12
Just stuck in my review copy of 'Step Up' and there was a preview for 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' on Blu-ray for its 25th anniversary. No date or month was given, but it looks official that the movie is coming to Blu-ray soonish.

Awesome! I hope Disney jump the gun early and release this in the Fall. Most likely though they'll hold off until early 2013 for the actual anniversary. Maybe tie it in with the BD/DVD release of "Flight".
I'd rather they tied it to the theatrical bow of that though, if they plan on cross promoting with that film at all, just because that means I'll have a remastered relic through which I can, ,repeatedly, relive my childhood over the holiday season in HD.
Like I did with The Rocketeer last year.Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Anne-Marie Sakowitz: No, they all share one. -

Lol I loved this movie. I remember being 5 and my dad telling me why he loved Jessica Rabbit. Guess why?

Fingers crossed for a restoration of the uncensored version.

Sort of. In the scene where Baby Herman walks underneath Jessica's dress, the animators drew him extending and lifting a finger before he slipped under, which was of course to imply that he tried to finger her. It flashed by very quickly and most audiences never noticed it. But Disney execs flipped out about this and tried to paint it out for video. The problem is that they did a very crude job of "fixing" the scene in the early '90s. As a result, Herman's entire arm mysteriously vanishes, and the technology at the time makes the whole thing look terrible.
The very first Laserdisc release was uncensored, but later LDs and all DVDs have been the censored version.
It's not a huge substantive change to the movie, but it was a deliberate gag on the part of the animators, and the censored version looks awful.Josh Z

Well, it certainly wasn't the first. Here's another very famous example:
Perhaps you're thinking of the fact that Roger Rabbit was the first (and only) time that the classic Disney and Warner Bros. animated characters have crossed over with one another, along with those of a number of other studios such as Fleischer, Turner and Fox? This is the only movie where you'll find both Donald Duck and Daffy Duck together, or Mickey Mouse interacting with Bugs Bunny, plus the likes of Felix the Cat, Betty Boop and Mighty Mouse all in one place.Josh Z
