The first two season of the show were post-produced in standard definition. Those will have to be re-edited from scratch, much like Star Trek TNG. I hope HBO has gone to that effort, rather than just upconverting them to HD.

Part of me thinks they will, because they're HBO, but part of me thinks they won't since we haven't heard a peep from them about doing such a restoration. Although it doesn't seem like it'd be too hard since there aren't that many episodes per season.
