the complete first season? so i take it there is more than one?
teletoon airs this in canada and its just reruns of season 1 since it ended many months ago. its the same for Transformers Prime but i recently contacted them and they will air season 2 in the fall. but yeah so does this show have a season 2 thats been or IS airing america right now?
all that said, i don't like the show too much. i applaud them trying something new with the renegades on the run angle but they shoulda just stuck to the "joe vs. cobra" thing. what turns me off the most is the animation models for the people...most of them just look the same, the faces are very bland and offputting.
but its good for the fans that they finally released the full season on blu, took them long enough. though the dvds are still being split into volumes...how annoying. -

Nice. I really liked this show, but the "artistic styling" is the weakest link IMO.

The show seemed too much like The A-Team rather than GI Joe I knew and loved growing up with.
I was hesitant with the show early on, but it grew on me. I like most of the characters, still sad to see that some characters were killed off early on.
That being said, Season One was all about them meeting the characters we know and love and making friends/alliances as they try to clear their names. I hope Season Two leads to them clearing their names so they can recruit the characters they've met and helped along the way and form the JOE Team.
If this happens by Season 3, I'll be happy. There's only so long that they can be on the run ala The A-Team! "Convicted for a crime they didn't commit, they promptly escaped...If you can find them, maybe you can hire The A-TEAM".
I've been enjoying seeing the origins of the characters I loved, but I want to see the G.I. Joes soon.

Sorry to disappoint...
They already cancelled this show, ironically because of the new movie that was being produced They are producing a new one that i am sure will not be nearly as good as renegades.
I too wasn't sure about this but by the time zartan gained his chameleon powers and a malfunction caused his trademark cool as hell voice I was hooked. Too bad we wont get more. -

Yep, I was interested in seeing this show months ago, but now that they have cancelled it, I have no reason to bother.
I just wished they would do a sequel to Resolute, because that is by far the best GI Joe adventure put onto screen. It was way better than the movie and the original cartoons combined."...somewhere out there, michael bay now has the basis for his next film...and it's all your fault." - project-blu -

I had some issues with the way that Resolute screwed around with some of the characters' backstories (the flashbacks with Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes were pretty dreadful), but I liked it a lot overall. Haven't seen Renegades yet.

I'm talking in comparison to the comic book, which is what I consider "canon." I realize that Resolute was supposed to be a continuation of the original cartoon, but I still didn't care for the Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow flashbacks. The dialogue was pretty bad in those scenes.

The cartoon character backstories have always been different from those in the comics. Between the different cartoon re-boots, comics incarnations, live action, etc., there are several versions now.
As far as the Snake-Eyes & Stormshadow stuff, my opinion is: unless your name is Larry Hama, leave it alone. Of course, the characters are perennially popular, so Hasbro's going to keep stirring that pot. -

Oh, well Resolute was a sequel to neither. It just took concepts from both the comic and original cartoon. Remember, in Resolute, there was a love triangle between Duke, Snake-Eyes, and Scarlett, whereas in the original comics it was always Snake-Eyes and Scarlett, but in the cartoon it was Duke and Scarlett. That alone told me they were following their own continuity, while giving nods to both. I agree that I do not like the fact of Storm Shadow being evil by choice, but you could always think of it as he has had his mind wiped by Dr Mindbender and they made him think he was in charge of the Hard Master's death. Nonetheless, Zartan was still the one to perform the deed just like he did in the comics.
