i saw this in theaters and despite how different it was, i still loved it. i've owned the dvd since it first came out and i'll likely get the blu if it has a nice image. some new extras would be nice but i doubt anyone involved wants to talk about it, least on actors side of things. lol
i still remember the toy commercials when they added Blade, the lizard-ish dude and the white haired guy to the masters of the universe roster. -

Whiplash, Cobra Khan, Rokon, Stonedar, King Randor are also missing!
I guess if they made it now, CGI could implement all the characters without any problem. I do remember the action figures and the original Masters Of The Universe action figures made all others look anorexic to say the least. -

The movie was pretty bad, but I hope it does well on BR and that they do the long awaited/rumoured remake.
From the Youtube video above, I can see that they were really constrained, but at the end of the day, kids want to see the characters they know and love on the big screen, not some random robots that were thrown in, or story lines that have nothing to do with the He-Man universe, or characters that are nothing like their small screen counterparts. -

I can understand why the movie was made the way it was.
The characters/action figures had too many bright colours, after all it was the 80s. To translate that into a live action movie literally, may have resulted in disaster. CGI not being available would have limited their options further, not to mention being on a relatively low budget.
If they did do a remake, I dont think they could do the characters justice with a live action movie even now. All the original characters look like serious steroid abusers to the extreme, which is how they should look. Maybe an animation using the method Robert Zemeckis used for a Christmas Carol would work. -
