'Total Recall: Mind-Bending Edition' on blu-ray July 31st

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/7010...ecall_mbe.html
Hahaha, you thought this was a real blu-ray...
It is.
Stupid subtitle aside, this sounds like a winner. Lionsgate promises a new, director-approved, HD transfer from the OCN. Special features include the old DVDs optional stream-of-consciousness narration (aka the greatest "commentary" ever recorded) courtesy Arnold Schwarzenegger and director Paul Verhoeven, a new interview with Verhoeven and more.
Perhaps best of all, Walmart has it up for pre-order: $14.99 MSRP! I'd expect sub-$10 on release at most places.Last edited by Landy; 05-10-2012 at 01:41 PM.
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Anne-Marie Sakowitz: No, they all share one. -

Verhoeven: This is where you shoot that guy.
Schwarzenegger: Exactly.
Verhoeven: And this is where you shoot that other guy.
Schwarzenegger: Exactly.
Verhoeven: And this is where you run over there and shoot a whole bunch of guys.
Schwarzenegger: Exactly.
I prefer Verhoeven's "Digital Johnny, real Johnny, digital Johnny, real Johnny, digital Johnny, real Johnny, digital Johnny, real Johnny, digital Johnny, real Johnny, digital Johnny, real Johnny..." commentary on Starship Troopers, personally. Oh, and the countless flagrantly inappropriate and sexist remarks from Schwarzenegger in the Terminator 3 commentary.Josh Z

A new transfer eh? Looks like I might finally upgrade the old German HD DVD. Still I will wait for reviews, hopefully this won't be another Predator Ultimate Hunter Edition.

figures this happens after i bought the original blu-ray. i imagine the new transfer has to be better as the current one barely looks better than dvd.

This is the ultimate release deserving of some customer support from Lionsgate. The first blu-ray release of Total Recall is probably the most pathetic piece of garbage in my collection. Do not buy this new release until you read something definitively stating the PQ blows away the first BD release - even then - one can only hope . . .

The commentary track on Total Recall and Conan the Barbarian are hilarious.
