Looking forward to this. Sounds like Nate's display had some ghosting issues with this one, but at least they were minor. My JVC will probably ghost with this a bit as well. As always, DLP guys have nothing to worry about as far as crosstalk. Love that Nate is still blaming the disc for ghosting though, lol.
The thing I am looking most forward to is the audio as just about everyone is raving about it
Should have my disc by the weekend I hope!

if that scene was CG, then he is NOT in the film then.

I remember liking the first one quite a bit, and thinking the second one was decent. The third film was just crap, in my opinion. I honestly never at one point cared for any character, nor did any of the characters become any more interesting than cutting circles out of cardboard boxes. It will take a little bit of effort for me to see this one, but thanks Nate for highlighting important points, like the fact that this film is weak in story and high in action. I don't think I will put this one even close to the top of my list then.

Not liking the prequel is understandable, you either can get into it or you can't. Regarding this movie, where is the insult to fans of the 1st three? Even if you don't like it, it does nothing to diminish the originals.

i bought this but havent watched yet so my only memory is the one time i saw it in theaters and even then, i knew it wasnt really him. looks like they tried to CGI/Morph the double's face into Speedman but it looks nothing like him. i could forgive the first shot on the dock since he's far-ish...but the underwater sequence gives us a nice closeup and man....not even close.
if the plan is really to focus on him in a Part 5 then i'm guessing Speedman will be involved since it will likely be an actual role. so why not just get him for this one? i doubt it would have taken more than a day or two to do his scenes. and if they really couldnt get him, then just dont show him at all or at least keep the face hidden. i would have preferred a double who's face is never shown instead of that terrible CGI job. makes you appreciate Clu from Tron Legacy that much more. :P
(granted its a different process since Tron simply redid the same actor but younger but yeah) -

The movie is ok, nothing particularly outstanding and I am sorry to say the 3D is equally dissapointing. There are many instances where the characters are 2D and at times backrounds are out of focus which works well enough in 2D but doesn't really work in 3D.
It's by no means a shining example of a 3D movie and in view of the rather bland story I really would not recommend anybody buys this title quite frankly.
Dissapointing. -

Bouncy, having rewatched the film 2x (for an additional review, and for the extra PiP track not found on the 3d disc), i can say, holy shit is that a BAD scott speedman. i can't spell it out, but let's just say he looks like a word that we use for people who are of mongolian descent, only the other meaning. really, REALLY unfortunate.

just watched this last night and thought it was decent.. action-packed from beginning to end.. 3D was solid.. the ending was disappointing IMO..

I just got done watching it and am really glad I didn't read this review before watching it. On my Mitsubishi DLP 3DTV, this movie has almost no depth in it. In fact, you can take off your glasses and besides a very subtle blur in certain areas or objects on the screen, it's watchable as a 2D film. My DLP TV doesn't have a depth control on it, and I don't believe the PS3 does either, like many TVs and 3d Blu-ray players apparently do, but it can display some damn good depth, especially with movies like Under the Sea (watched it last night) and How to Train Your Dragon.
I thought the film itself was rather good, but maybe that's because I liked Kate's Alice-Esque (ala Resident Evil) character portrayal in this movie, being a fan of the RE series. When the film ended, it didn't feel like I watched a complete film, however. Maybe it needed to be 15 minutes longer, or much more likely, it was because it set itself up for another obvious sequel.
