ebay + bluray
Ive been looking at ebay for bluray disks for any deals... I see a ton of 1 cent listing brand new region 1 with shipping only costing in the 3-6 dollar range, however there arent any bids and a lot of items dont ever get a bid before ending?
Is there a catch Im missing on these? -

Maybe that it does not exists...
http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/Sal...fcl=3&frpp=200
42 items came up for Blu-ray for $8+shipping or less ending within 12 hours... Don't call that tons and most of them have bids. The ones that doesn't have a shipping cost of about $10...
Some of these titles are not even Blu-ray discs but programs for burning Blu-ray etc.He that will not reason is a bigot; he that cannot reason is a fool; he that dares not reason is a slave

I think I got one "catch" most of the .99 cent ones are "paper-sleeved" not original case. -

Yes - be careful of a seller named "stiqbusiness". He's selling hundreds of Blu-rays & HD DVD's as "New" or "Like new, trust me" that come only in a paper sleeve. He has cleaned up his act a little (he was suspended for a few weeks) and now says "comes in paper sleeve only" whereas before he just said "comes with sleeve". I fell for it & bought Vertical Limit - the ads show the stock photo of the cover & case and it didn't dawn on me that "comes with sleeve" meant that was all you were getting. Yep, arrived in a flat envelop just in a paper sleeve. It played OK and it was cheap, but in the HD DVD Bargains Thread there some that didn't have such good luck with this guy's HD DVD's.
So, if you're OK with getting BD's in a paper sleeve only, they usually go for around $10. But I'm staying clear - he's been suspended once and there's something very fishy about how he's getting so many high def disks with no cases. -

I've been buying all of my HDDVD & BluRay off of E-Bay lately. All for around $20.00 Canadian (everything included) and brand new still sealed. The most was $21.00. But in the stores they sell them for around $28 to $35 plus tax.
I'v only being buying from canadian stores though. And you have to be patient, I just got Night at the Museum for $20, and it took me 8 tries to get it at that price. Some of them were going for over $30. At that price I would ratter buy it in the stores. You can actually get them cheaper if you wait until the last second to bid.XBOX 360 Games : 75

Yeah, many sellers cancel all bids and end an item if they feel they won't get what they wanted. They just are cheap jackasses who won't set reserves (cost money) or start the auction higher (again, costs money)
I have rarely won any low-priced AUCTIONS on ebay for hd or blu. I've gotten some amazing Buy it Nows, though. Today I got the best deal I've ever gotten, but I ain't gonna brag about nothing until it's in my hands. Ebay is great for hd and blu, but there are a ton of worthless jerk sellers out there. Never pay more than 4 bucks for shipping, and only 4 if it's priority. It only costs 40 to 60 cents for the mailers, and 1.20 to 1.50 to ship a blu or hd, plus 75 cents if they put d.confirm on it.Nate Boss

The problem with eBay is you have no idea what you're getting... Always buy from someone with a high feedback rating (usually 50+ and atleast 98% approval)... I bought 4 BD and 2 HD from a guy for $60 which equals $10 each shipped, so you can find good deals on there...
As for the $.01 auctions, most sellers start them at that price to keep eBay fees down, and you shouldn't assume they're trying to pull a fast one if they do... And for fucks sake, READ THEIR FEEDBACKS!!! If more than one person says their dishonest or states inaccuracies in their listings, chances are they do it a lot...Setup Pictures
