Default 'Point Blank' - High-Def Digest Review

E has reviewed 'Point Blank.' He says this is a taut, well-executed crime thriller. This Blu-ray features average but fairly solid video, better audio, and one rather lengthy extra. This is well worth a rental.

this flick is pretty much like one of those direct to dvd actioners that come out every week here in the states. if this movie had been american-made, you can rest assured it would have been given half a star by the same reviewers who give it 4/5 stars, only because it was made by..ooolala, the sophisticated and classy french. no, it's a piece of crap standard action fare, forgettable & unremarkable, embarrassingly bad acting, lame attempts at humor, with a hero who looks like robert z'dar's son. the plot? could be easily taken from any 2 episodes of the show '24' so nothing original here.

I ended up watching this because somebody compared it to die hard in a review. certainly a big stretch there, that comparison. movies like from paris with love & any luc besson produced/directed movies outdo this one imhfo.

I watched this just the other day and LOVED it! It's so much fun! Reminds me of early Luc Besson. It's very well-written and playful. Loved seeing the chick from The Skin I Live In in another movie.

As for being artsy fartsy and pretentious, has some american jackass made it, I'd love it just as much!
