Default Disney's Cinderella CONFIRMED for FALL 2012

Disney reps have officially confirmed that Cinderella will be presented as a Diamond Edition and released on October 2nd, 2012.

Also the three movie edition as well,

By looking at previous releases on dvd and laserdisc and their moratorium schedule, this falls in line as expected.

Thanks Bill Hunt for the report (not rumor.)

I would expect a Lion King sort of release here... Cinderella only in both a 2 disc and 3 disc edition and then a box set with Parts 2 and 3 in it.

'Cinderella's Blu-ray preview was on 'Lion King 1 1/2' release. This is what I wrote in my review:
Sneak Peeks (HD, 9 min.) – A good helping of Disney previews are included. Most notably an announcement of 'Cinderella' finding its way to Blu-ray.

Their Sneak Peak did not convey a specific date did it?

One can always look at past Disney releases on other formats and determine with some accuracy when titles will be released again. If a particular film came out 2 years after a certain other film, you can pretty much bet that when the new format comes out the release schedule will be very similar. I saw this with VHS, Laserdisc and dvd. For whatever reason though they skipped Aladdin this go round.

I think Disney forgot to put Aladdin in the vault this time around. Several years down the line, the DVD is still readily available at most shops. Whereas Cinderella has been unavailable for quite some years (I know, because I was searching Cinderella last month as a birthday present and it was impossible to find -- it even fetched high prices on eBay etc.)

well thats probably just because cinderella sold better. when they put movies in the vault, it doesnt mean every copy suddenly disappears does it? i was always under the impression it means they just stop making more so once stores run out, its gone.

anyway thats a pretty nifty box for the complete series thingy. a movie box that actually has other uses besides looking pretty and holding movies. lol

I pre-ordered it from DMC back when they had it for 24.95. Plus at the time they had buy 2 or more get free shipping. So I just added Father of the Bride I & II for $13.xx to get the free shipping.
