so am i but if there is no announcement by CC regarding this release, i'll be blind buying this Day 1, that is, if the price dips down lower than it is currently at now.

Adore this movie. Saw it twice in theatres and it just blew me away. Not for everyone by a long shot, but first day for me!

I'm sure a big bang will happen somewhere in the middle of this, and it'll end up going that route. It wouldn't be the first for Criterion to delay. Remember Darjeeling? Ugh, Fox.

Though, I have no love for Malick. He's a terrible storyteller.

Well, The New World is NewLine/Warner to begin with... Warner has not licensed anything to Criterion.

Saw it twice in the theatres and cannot watch it again for at least a year, just too heavy.

Will still be buying day one.

I pre-ordered this on Amazon and then received an email from them saying that it was due to arrive to me Sept. 14-16th. If I go on the product page it doesn't say anything about not being released yet or pre-order, it just says it would ship in 7-11 days. I thought the release date is October 11th. What's the deal?

So guys is this an extended release? The amazon page has it at 181 minutes while IMDB has it at 139. But I havent read anything calling it an extended cut.

Plan on blind buying this, and Ive never seen one Malick film, ever. Not even the Thin Red Line.
