D&C is a day one buy. Have the CC DVD. One of my all-time favorites.

Other sites are listing this as just a Paramount release with a Criterion one eventually coming but not announced. Where did you get the info that it's a Criterion?

"Dazed and Confused" isn't a Paramount title.

Whoops. Well, that is an even harder slap then as Universal will likely just use an old master and/or DNR/EE.

Yeah, pretty dumb. I've seen this movie so many times I can literally recite about 80% or more of it verbatim as the movie plays, so I can easily hold out for the Criterion one. Especially if the PQ on the Universal one sucks.

My bad on the Paramount/Universal mixup.

if anything the Uni BD will be the same as the HD DVD. i doubt they put a new "remastering" (aka slather it to fuck with DNR) when they were at the same time surely negotiating with the CC on a BD release.
