Default 'Nature's Journey' -- pre-release buzz

Koch Distributing has announced a new made-for-HD release, called 'Nature's Journey'

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/naturesjourney.html

It's due September 11, and though there are no extras it does include a DTS Master Lossless Audio track (at 96kHz/24-bit) and a 36mbps video encode.

Finally, someone actually takes advantage of BR's storage space. I wonder if there'll be any discernible difference in video quality between the two. I'll bet that the HD DVD version will be VC1 and the BR will likely be AVC.

It's actually a BD25. Both encodes are VC-1 and 1080i.

Default Wow

All I can say is WOW!

PQ 5

If you like nature stuff a must get. I was surprised at the quality and the 3D look of the transfer. Give support to small independent companies. HD is not all about action movies!

It's a watch and relax title

I'm surprised that High-def Digest still haven't compared the HD DVD and BD versions of this title.

IMHO it wasn't as nice as I thought it would be, not THAT sharp and the CGI effects distracted from the overall movie. Not to mention that there is no narrative so this gets old after about 15 minutes, more like background music/demo for a party. A little bit letdown.

I have to agree. The added CGI was a big disappointment for me. A better concept would've been a disc incorporating hi-def nature footage into digitally created sci-fi/fantasy landscapes set to music. Those tumbling CGI leaves during the autumn scenes did me in. NJ is very New-Agey, which is not a turn off for me in it's concept, but in it's execution.
