Unexpected, but I'm just glad to see that Sony is digging deeper into their catalog. Is it a remaster?
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Anne-Marie Sakowitz: No, they all share one. -

in a stunning development this blu-ray is apparently coming out TOMORROW!!!!

you can see the date at amazon.
Sony apparently cares so little about classic catalog bd now, that they aren't even issuing announcement info regarding release dates.
I just ordered my copy. -

Besides having read the book I find Bogart's best performance are when he plays scoundrel characters, which were also his preferred roles.

absolutely it is worth getting.
it's a real classic with a great performance by Bogart.
plus it should look great with the work done for the bd.
EDIT: amazon shows "in stock" so it is out.

This is the best role Bogey ever had in that it's the closest he's ever come to acting. Excellent movie.

It's a faithful adaptation of a fine Herman Wouk novel with an all-star cast. Bogie is indeed magnificent; but you also get a fine eloquent performance from Jose Ferrer. and Fred mcMurray is good in a different sort of role. My copy is sitting on the table waiting for a test spin.

Everyone with a bit of cinematic taste loves Humphrey Bogart! I'm just a simple Belgian trying to make his way through the universe. Back in 2003, I took a class called "American Fiction" in which we discussed the hard boiled detective genre (Elmore Leonard etc) and took a look at classic detective movies. I can tell you, Bogart is still held in very, very high regard. Which is nice, for he is a true icon of your domestic cinema. That's when I discovered The Maltese Falcon ... hopefully, that movie will be released on Blu-ray shortly. Such a touch of class.

I LOVE classics. My brother makes fun of me all the time because he pretty much won't watch any movie dated before 1960 LOL.
Some of these older actors had talents today's actors could only dream of.
I've been going NUTS the past month buying BRs I need to SLOW way down! -
