just ordered M, Pierrot le Fou, and The Killing.

every time I see Criterion packaging I get a little more addicted.

I'll probably be tempted to get Breathless and Solaris next.

I wish we'd get a Criterion blu release of Stalker... though that has probably already been discussed.

Actually, Kino has the rights for a good part of Tarkovsky. Mirror is planned to hit BD this year along with Stalker as a great possibility. I would recommend Criterion to upgrade Ivan's Childhood, though.

So I just got a killer deal. I was at best buy and saw they had the older release of Traffic on sale for 9.99. They also had the new Criterion for 30. But I noticed they had the 9.99 sign in front of the Criterions also. So I took it up to the register where they attempted to charge me 30 but I was like hey the sign says 9.99. So the guy was like ok we'll give it to you since we placed the sign in the wrong place. With a coupon I had, I ended up paying 8 bucks for the new Traffic Criterion release. How cool is that?

Whirly, email Jon at Criterion. He is pretty quick on the email. I'm sure you'll get it. Keep us informed on what happens.

I decided to wait until the two week mark to ask about it...they said they had sent it and to wait another week and let them know...it showed up two days later (yesterday, postmarked the 18th). So I guess the mail was just slower than usual. Now I can sit down and watch the trilogy at last!

Not a single comment ? The Criterion fans have literally vanished from this forum . I remember there was a time when the Criterion thread was quite active but about a year ago the traffic slowed down and now is almost non-existent .

Well, I recommend you trying to catch up with some Ozu. Most of the other films are not as widely known but the Czech New Wave Eclipse set should make some people here excited. It is a DVD set but with so much quality film-wise I don't see a problem!

Better late than never as we're expecting a family addition soon, but I second Darkcritic's recommendation to watch some Ozu films. "Tokyo Story" and "Late Spring" are masterpiece works to behold. Stoked to see one is coming to Blu, would love the other one too!
