I'm pretty annoyed about this as I've got 7 of the films in the boxset already and Lolita and Barry Lyndon are top of my 'wants' list. I don't doubt that they'll get individual releases but having to wait another 6 months or so for them is a major pain.
Here's hoping they get individual releases in the UK.DVD: over 2150. BD: About 750. HD DVD: 80ish.
PS3 Slim (region B), XBox360 with add-on (X2) , Sony BDP-760 (Region B), Sony BDP-350 (Region B), Sony BDP-350 (Region A), Panasonic DMP-BD35 (Multiregion), Limit BDP-M100 (Multiregion), Panasonic DMP-BD-110 (Multiregion).

I would think they'll get individual releases in the UK also.
imo the most depressing thing is the thought of that wretched Universal Spartacus contaminating the set.
just so sad. -

I know, which is why I'm hoping the UK (where I live) will follow suit.
They did this with the DVDs too, making 'A Life in Pictures' a box set exclusive after I'd bought most of the films individually (twice in the case of 2001, ACO and Barry Lyndon). I had to 'A Life in Pictures' off ebay.Last edited by Kid Banana; 02-15-2011 at 01:40 PM.

So they are going to do a digibook, but is it a new transfer? If so, I'll definitely pick it up. If not, I'll wait until it is on sale as I would love the digibook.

early Euro promo stuff apparently said it would be a newly restored transfer, but it certainly doesn't seem like warner is making it real clear in their US based promo info.
would it really be that hard to say "new 4k scan" or something like that?
anyway, most people are under the assumption that this will, in fact, be the new transfer. -

While I'm excited about the set, it is a bit of a letdown in some respects.
Barry Lyndon and Lolita get NO additional features??? No commentaries? The other Kubrick films that were released on BR had additional materials that helped frame the films in their proper context as well as adding interesting production details. I know that Barry Lyndon is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is not by any means a piece of crap that doesn't deserve some level of attention.
I'm also curious why they didn't add the excellent documentary "Kubrick's Boxes" which was produced for the BBC awhile back. It is very fascinating and uncovers another layer to Kubrick's work habits as well as showing interesting behind-the-scenes footage. Lost opportunity if you ask me.
Regardless, I'll still pony up the cash as I don't have Spartacus, Dr. Strangelove, Lolita, and Barry Lyndon yet, and it would be nice to have the additional features on ACO. -

Soooo pissed. I'll double dip for the digibook of A Clockwork Orange (when/if it's at the right price) but replacing another 5 titles is ridiculous. They should've released a set when they released the titles the first time.
