I can buy the bit about an old man losing his wife... but College Age Andy losing his toys... not sad enough for me... if he lost a bag of weed I could see him being depressed but losing his toys... nah.
However, I liked TS3 because it is a great prison escape movie masked into a cartoon or vice versa. My Next Film "All in the Game" starring Chris Clanton and Micaiah Jones from HBO's The Wire! www.allinthegamemovie.net NOW TAKING HD DVD and BLU-RAY Pre-Orders -

the opening sequences in UP are beyond fucking sad. they did such a great job on it, VERY effective, really makes you able to empathize and watch a cartoon about the old codger. pixar knows how to make a great fucking film when they're on the ball.
toy story 3 ain't one of those times, but i know it got a TON of people right in the gut.Nate Boss

ONe of the things PIXAR ever did that threw me for a loop was the opening of Finding Nemo... I was quite shocked at how violent and dark the opening to that film really was, yeah it opens up as it progresses but I remember sitting in the theater being floored and wasn't sure if I liked the movie very much until the Shark Anonymous Meeting and of course The ride through the EAC.
Up's opening is definitely out there, and I will give-in that it is depressing, but I didn't care for Up all that much as an overall film. Still PIXAR still puts out the best films in the CG animation department.
TS3 was a bit freaky with the baby doll with the lazy eye, but the fact it was such a great prison break style flick is why I enjoyed it as much as I did, and of course you can't go wrong with Spanish Buzz.My Next Film "All in the Game" starring Chris Clanton and Micaiah Jones from HBO's The Wire! www.allinthegamemovie.net NOW TAKING HD DVD and BLU-RAY Pre-Orders -
