Delta Farce and Troy: DC for Blu-ray
Posted July 6, 2007 by Josh

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has revealed that they are bringing the Larry the Cable Guy military comedy 'Delta Farce' to Blu-ray on September 4th. A surprise move by Warner Brothers was also revealed, as they will be releasing 'Troy: Director's Cut' for Blu-ray on September 18th. This is a surprise because the theatrical version of Troy already exists on HD DVD.

Been waiting to see what the director's cut would look like since the original release. Good stuff.

I hear yea and I like what I hear. I have V for hd dvd and the pq is excellent! Same with Matrix. Blu-ray would benefit greatly with these two releases in their library but we shall see if it happens. There is speculation that Matrix will be out for blu by the holidays but I have'nt heard anything yet.

You know what would be great is if this cut made use of Gabriel Yared's wonderful but rejected score for this film.

Yes, Warner needs to start releasing those titles which are only on HD DVD... Troy, Batman Begins, Vandetta, and forget the Matrix Trilogy, just release the 1st one...

Well BD-J has been finalized so now that Warner is out of excuses, (even though they keep releasing half-assed Blu-ray titles) we should see those soon. I read somewhere a while ago that all those initial HD DVD titles would make debuts on Blu-ray by the end of 2007 but so far there has been no official announcement for any of them. All I want is "Matrix Trilogy," "V For Vendetta," "Blade Runner" and "Heat"and I'm fine with Warner.

If you really care about HD DVD, don't get the Xbox 360 add-on and make the same mistake I did

We should be getting V for Vendetta late this year. IIRC, Matrix may come out in 2008. Neither format has Blade Runner or Heat, but we know the former should be coming out in the fall for both.

I will be picking up the director's cut on BD. I liked the movie, didn't love it, but it didn't make me nearly fall asleep like Kingdom of Heaven.
