'The Expendables' - High-Def Digest Review

Really interested in the DC myself.

Edit: Nice review. Thoughts on the movie were similar to my experience with it.

Yeah, I really enjoyed, damn near loved Rambo but passed up on the DC myself. From the reports I read, didn't miss out on much. Hopefully The Expendables DC will be more substantial than Rambo? I dunno, am in a dilemma too, get Expendables now or wait for the DC.

Edit: Second thought, knowing me, I'll likely end up waiting for a price drop on it either way.

Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh... didn't think much of this movie.

Admittedly, expectations were reasonably high, despite numerous warning from friends who had already suffered through it.

I thought the action was rather poor overall, with some cool concepts but ruined by the aformentioned shaky-cam, bad editing and simply horrid dialogue and one-liners. The script overall was the biggest blunder. And yes, I know... the script is not whats important in a film like The Expendables, but it should at least hold it together. Unfortunately, I was taken out of the fantasy all too often by insipid lines.
The humour didn't really work for me either, with only the 'president' line and the D&M scene between Stallone and rourke nearly having me in stitches!

Since it went down to $19.99 at Amazon, I preordered it. One of the better summer movies.

I will buy it and it was entertaining..but it still makes me very sad Sly went full moron with the shaky cam and way too many dark/night scenes. All of those athletes ruined by terrible camera work and editing.

I am going to stuff my face with turkey on Thursday, and then kick back and watch this with the family!

My family would have done the same thing, but my inlaws will not watch R movies. Shit, sometimes they won't watch PG13. So I guess I will have to get this watched before Thurs.
