Default It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown - Sept. 7th

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has sent out an advertisement advertising a September 7th release date for ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” on Blu-ray.

The Blu-ray release will feature a 1080p VC-1 video presentation and a mono audio track. This is the second Charlie Brown title to hit Blu-ray, last year saw the release of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’

A bonus Peanuts TV Special will be included, titled ‘It’s Magic, Charlie Brown.’ Like ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’, this release will include a DVD copy of the film. The Blu-ray release of The Great Pumpkin features a 24.98 SRP.

Although I can commiserate with Warner about the high costs associated with upgrading these treasures to , I cannot see paying those high retail prices for the main 24 min feature! To me, they just need to release
all the major Peanuts Holiday releases on one disc for around that same $24.99.

    this.

In its several releases on any format over the years I have passed each and every time.. they are just too expensive for how short they are..

why would I spend $24 on a 24 minute feature (with a bonus episode that may or not even be any good) when I can get a 2-3 hour movie for $9.99 to 14.99? I have never understood the justification.. I mean the Star Trek series starts out high but at some point seems to break, like the original show at $39.99 at Best Buy not too long ago, but the Peanuts prices seem to rarely drop at all.

As always there will be someone wailing about the price. That's what you get for buying the day the titles comes out.
Me, I have bought most of my blu-rays at $10 CAD because I can wait until the price drops.

Well I think the release could be 14.99 on release date, SRP usually doesn't happen unless it is from a very small studio.

    ------------

True...they already own them, and probably bought the rights at the time for very little compared to what they are worth today.
