Sounds good, but I bet its from the same problematic master. I don't know if its just the best that it can look, but I wish they'd at least try some sort of restoration to get a better picture out of it.

If this is remastered I will get it, I rented the first release, and was not impressed with the PQ.

A lot of Fox's early releases seemed rush so this could be a better transfer. I'll get this if the transfer kicks ass if not, I'll just stick with my DVD.

Amen to that brother! You know, I saw this in the theater and I remember it
always had that high grain look in many parts. The cheap film stock used in the
80's is nefarious and problematic. I too would recommend a digital restoration.
I still have this "Predator"
unopened. I picked it up for $5 at Target (with one of their coupons). Sounds like a good time to dump it!

If a "remaster" included scrubbing away that gritty grain I'd rather stick with the current release.

'Predator' is due for a nice video remastering, that's for sure; as of now it looks like VHS!

It's certainly not nearly that bad. I owned both the original DVD (widescreen) and the special edition DVD from a few years ago and the BD kills both of these titles. Does it look great? Of course not, but it still beats every previous home video release out other.
