I still see plenty of reasons to own an HD DVD player. Thanks for the update Tom.

No problem! I will be handling this thread from now on so if anyone has any suggestions, corrections, or whatever feel to let me know.

And yes there is still a lot of great movies that make HD-DVD player owners still want to hang onto it but the list is slowly shrinking!

Finally an updated list!
Any chance to add the # of titles released each year, etc? I know that was in the other thread."Thank you to God for making me an Atheist." - Ricky Gervais -

The theatrical cut of Troy is an HD DVD exclusive. It is the reason I bought an HD DVD player, in fact, as I am one of the few who prefer the theatrical release of this film.
P.S. It is Warner Bros.Last edited by Jeff B; 04-03-2010 at 09:59 AM.

Well, I disagree. I wasn't confused at any point in the theatrical cut, and the director's cut with its awful new soundtrack and excessively graphic violence ruined the beauty of the original for me. To each his own!

I don't see how. Releases by studios aren't often made based on common perceptions of which version is superior, as the LOTR situation shows. I only posted it because I thought that this thread was to list HD DVD exclusives. HD DVD actually had editions of both versions.
