Wow...I didn't see this one coming! The original anthology was outstanding; I simply can't wait for this.

Wow. I am blown away by this news. I actually did a double-take at my computer screen. It's incredibly great to see something like this being put out there. I kind of assumed that most distributors wouldn't see any profit in re-releasing some of the great old experimental stuff on blu ray. God bless you Criterion. Now... would some Maya Deren be too much to ask??? <3

+1 on CC getting ahold of Deren's work; the existing (and terribly overpriced, almost always-backordered) compendium from Mystic Fire is fine as far as it goes, but far from a definitive, archive-quality release of some of the most important avant-garde films ever produced. Between much-needed restoration and comprehensive presentation, I stagger to think of what a CC Deren Anthology could be.

But in the meantime, I'll happily take the Brakhage...and applaud CC for not taking the easy cash-grab approach with its BD output.

This was a blind buy but looks like it will be pretty worth it. Got this from the 50% off B&N sale with an additional 20% off from the Thanskgiving coupons. I thought that my order on 10/31/12 got lost during Hurricane Sandy but got a surprise email today that it will ship tomorrow. What are your most favorite chapters?
