I have this in the mail to me, right now. I will update my sticky with the info. I did read there was no forced subs, on another site.

I just ordered it 2 days ago from Amazon.fr and it is shipping to the US. I probably won't have it for another week, week and a half. I will def. update it when it comes in.

It plays in my Region A Pioneer, so I assume Region Free.

I just did a quick comparison between this release and my German HD DVD, both playing on my PC. This release is a high bitrate AVC, often in the high 20Mbps and get into the 30's at times. The grain looks incredible, but yet it quite similar to my German HD DVD. There might be a slight improvement, perhaps the grain is slightly more refined in this release. They both look excellent, I doubt this movie could look much better on this format.

Now a comparison with the US Blu-Ray and we're all set!

Well, the German release is better than the US release. So, I guess that means the French release is also better.
