Default Sympathy For Lady Vengeance (HK) Review!

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDRev...dvd_review.htm

not sure what he means by "occasional English subs"
I mean I haven't ever seen this film, but certainly would want subs.
So I'm not sure whether I should pursue this bd or not.
I've been wanting to see this film for a very long time though.

who knows.

Lady Vengeance is the weakest of the Vengeance trilogy, though. Sympathy for Mr Vengeance the best. Lady is still GOOD, but it doesn't measure up to the others.

want this disc badly, but the only store that has it, i don't trust their checkout methods whatsoever.

I missed out on seeing this at the Florida Film Festival years ago. I don't know why I haven't seen it yet.

does HKFlix have it?
I ordered from them once, and was very pleased with the service.
Are you talking about that site?

Actually, it's 'occasionally weak English and Chinese subtitles', which means that they probably have spelling/grammar errors, or just badly translated. That said, I didn't have a problem with Panorama's DVD subtitles, which I'd assume these are.

Will still wait for the UK disc, though.

DDDHouse in HK has this title for HK$215, shipping to US is HK$30, so total HK$245 which equates to approximately US$32

their check out is not that bad, its outsourced to third party I think
have no problem so far

my only grief with them is that they always send through registered mail so I must always come down to the post office to pick up the discs

I thought Mr.Vengeance was slow and boring and I might say overrated. I haven't seen "Oldboy" so I won't judge that but from what I saw of Lady I actually enjoyed it and finally saw what people saw in Park Chan Wook's films.

Oh and Nate Boss I LOVE your avatar now! It's so cute!

Me appreciate your comment!

I'm surprised you found Mr to be slow and/or boring. I'm also surprised someone has seen Mr and Lady, but not Oldboy. That's just NUTS.

I love Park Chan-Wook's works, from his Vengeance Trilogy, to I'm a Cyborg and his work in 3 Extremes. J.S.A. was a pile of shit, but oh well.

Mr. Vengeance had the biggest impact on me from the trilogy when I first saw it, but I watched all 3 movies with long intervals so I've never viewed them close together to really compare. I thought Lady Vengeance was getting a bit too stylized and it didn't have similar raw power as the earlier 2, but it's still very enjoyable. Looking forward to watching Mr. Vengeance again when the UK BD gets released.

I remember 3 Extremes and enjoyed Miike's work in that when I think "Audition" is overrated and may have enjoyed Park's work as well.
