Is the current US release 7.1 lossless?

I'm sure it varies, person to person, but the three that I've got all are in various states.

I got Watchmen from a friend in BC who swore it was in immaculate shape when it was mailed. It got dented on the top front cover, enroute to TX. A copy of Halo Wars: CE I picked up online was dented even worse (though I fixed it with some bending and poking), and I managed to get a copy of Sukiyaki Western Django from a contest I won and it's in fine shape.

YMMV.

I wish I was aware more of the various Steelbooks as they came out. I'd probably splash out for them as they look very nice. I just hope I have better odds finding ones in good shape.

I don't take chances when mailing folks steelbooks. It has to be in a box, and it has to be bubble wrapped. If you are really paranoid, I can send you a steelbook in an alpha case.

I have a couple with minor issues, but the majority of my 50+ blu steelbooks are in mint or sealed shape.

There is a very active steelbook community on blu-ray.com or you could visit steelbookhunterz.com as well. The users inform each other of new listings and I think both of those maintain master lists of steelbooks.

Agreed, I started using bubble wrap and boxes for the group buys, def adds to the safety in transit.

even tho i love steelbooks, i can't justify rebuying all of them. if only they had released them during the original release date.

Yeah, I thought about that. I think i'm either going to trade in the original's that I have to Blockbuster / Roger's / Local Shops to hopefully offset the cost. Otherwise, I can sell them to my friends at a steal of $10 - $15 each.

No no, you keep the original release to watch, the steelbook is kept sealed and mint for investment purposes!
