That'll be my next Amazon UK blind purchase.
The last one I blindly bought was BBC's "being human" (encoded @ 1080i50) and it was good. Just a word of caution: Although most (if not all) of UK's TV BD titles are region free, a lot of them are encoded at 1080i50, so a PS3 is not going to display them on your 50Hz capable TV... |

I've been watching it on my Momitsu and it passes the signal as 1080p/60 What's funny is that when I popped it into the PS3, it reads the disc plays the distributor intros then goes to a permanent black. |

Your Momitsu is configured to convert the 1080i/50 signal to 1080p/60. The PS3 can't do that, so you get a black screen.
I suspect the distributor intros are encoded at either 1080p/24 or 1080i/60. That'll be the reason why your PS3 can display them. |

I saw on some other forums that it was pre one of the 2.0 firmware updates the PS3 was able to decode these. I emailed Sony and they said it is a firmware issue and may potentially change, but they have nothing concrete to say at this time.
Anyone know of a workaround? I've been able to view these (Being Human and Demons) on my laptop, and will order Psychoville, but would love to get them on my TV. Here's hoping Sony fixes this! |

Something like this may work for you:
USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI adapter That is if your TV has one of those inputs. |
