Default Star Trek (J.J Abrams,2009) UK Steelbook

A listing has popped up at Play.com for a Steelbook for the Blu-ray version of the new Star Trek

Here's the image they have for it, but it doesn't look official:

Damn, if it was possible to import it and successfully play it on my 2500 early I certainly would.

It's Paramount and I believe they're usually region-free.

I'm not a fan of steelbooks but if that's the cover, I think it's hot.

I was thinking about talking with Saqib to get a bunch of copies sent to me in one box, and then re-sending to US members - then offerring at my cost.

Saves him the trouble of sending out 10 billion packages via international mail, and might be cheaper to send them all in bulk.

sorry I don't know who Saqib is actually.
haven't seen that name/person before.

May also risk unwanted attention from US Customs....

Customs is weird over here.

They probably will not even look at the package, it's just luck of the draw if they check it or not. And if it's through USPS, they usually don't charge customs fees either.

That's not really a concern. Person to person packages aren't the issue.
It's when you buy a big set of items from a retailer - sometimes you get pinched on the declared value. But I've only ever seen inflated duties when something gets brokered by IBC. The US import tax duty is only 2.something% and people rarely have to pay it.

+1 to that. If it's sent by DHL, the US Postal Service will end up delivering it. Very unlikely to get charged. United Parcel Service (UPS), might end up charging a small duty....but it would likely be delivered a little safer.
