Default Jackie Brown (Poland) Impressions

Watching it now I should note before I begin that the disc is in fact region free. I purchased it from http://www.bluedvd.pl/p/pl/pr009/jac...n+blu-ray.html for $26 shipped. Took about a week delivery time. Audio options are English DTS-HD 5.1 and Polish Dolby Digital 5.1. There are subtitles but I cannot read what languages they are in. Looking at a barebones release with this one. Video looks vibrant and has that Tarentino feel to it. Don't know what AR it's in as it is listed on the box and on the site as being "Full HD 1080p/24". SPI International was the distributor of this Miramax/Weinstein release. Would recommend this to anyone as it appears the US release maybe delayed somewhat.

Cool

According to IMDB the OAR is 1.85:1 so they can't easily have done anything bad to it, if not OAR it would probably be 1.78:1 which is close enough.

They seem to have a tendency to open up 2.35:1 movies in Poland to fill the whole 16:9 screen but in this case that's not a risk.

Seems like the shipping wasn't too slow either...

Nope it wasn't, I got the shipping notice on June 26th and received it on July 3rd so about 7 days which wasn't bad at all. I should correct myself in that there are no subtitles either. What you do have is your choice of fonts for Polish subs ranging from small to quite large, although they are not forced.

I gotta put this down as a possibility.

I know they mentioned a release, so I may wait until the Pulp Fiction disc hits stores next month.

Man this is really tempting.

I love this movie, but there's a big chance Jackie Brown comes out in the US really soon...

Give it a few more days as they indicate a 7-14 day turnaround for the title on their website. I got my shipping order about 3 days after I got my email acknowledging the order

I'm trying to garner some interest so that Jester could do a Polish group buy.
