Blood: The Last Vampire: October 9th Japan

Kadokawa will release Blood: The Last Vampire (live-action adaptation of the 2000 Anime) on Blu-ray Disc in Japan on October 9th.
Both DVD and Blu-ray Disc will include English (=original) audio and subtitles.

That's interesting, I wasn't aware of this live-action adaptation. I'll probably buy it. I saw the Anime version in a movie theatre (very limited theatrical showings) and had it as a DVD but didn't yet buy the Blu-ray (maybe I will when I spot a good deal on it). Also played it as a game with my wife several years ago, it was fun

Sony got the US and Pathe the European rights so I guess we'll see some cheaper releases later this year.

The anime was only 45 minutes long. I hope this is real feature length.

On the BD releaase of the Anime version runtime was marked as 96 minutes. I wondered about that when I saw the case in a shop as I remember the Anime was a lot shorter. Maybe they counted English and Japanese edits together or something.

The lead actress, Gianna Jun (real name is Ji-Hyun Jun), is very popular in Korea. I have seen many of her Korean movies. One of my favorite is "My Sassy Girl". The Hollywood equivalent of this movie released last year, starring Elisha Cuthbert, is an adaptation of the original Korean "My Sassy Girl" released in 2001. For those who haven't watched the original Korean "My Sassy Girl", I highly recommend it.

The less people that see this shit, the better.
Dreadful movie IMO. Also, it's about time that Hollywood stopped it with the fucking CGI blood. There's a fight in this movie that takes place in the rain and the fake blood looks terrible next to the real water.

I noticed the mediocre cg in some scenes, considering Chris Nahon directed it; dude's from the Luc Besson school of cinema, it has now been demoted to a future rental.
