Official Bfi (UK) Blu-Ray Release Thread
Bfi (British Film Institute) has been releasing blu-rays for some time now, and has built up an impressive--though still small--library of British and other foreign language cinema classics.
imo these releases complement the Criterion Collection magnificently, and certainly deserve their own thread. This thread will, of course, be a work in progress, and I will try to keep it updated fairly regularly. It may take a bit of time to get all the titles that are already out or coming soon all accounted for, so please be patient. Bfi seems to have really ramped up the number and frequency of their blu-ray output recently, so I feel like now is a good time to get this thread underway. now for the bad news. SOME Bfi titles are unfortunately region B LOCKED, but many others are REGION FREE. This thread will make clear which are locked to region B, and which titles are region free. Though the fact that some of these titles are locked is extremely unfortunate for region A members, I feel that there are enough region B members on HDD to easily warrant this thread. Also, there are region A people who are throwing off the chains of region coding through various methods every single day on here. Don't let studio greed keep you from enjoying these amazing world cinema classics! (Please leave the discussion of region free options to the bd hardware section however) Bfi, like Criterion, takes great pride in their releases, and every release that has come out so far has garnered wonderful reviews from what I have seen. While it's true that most BFI titles are region locked, some are region free, such as Primitive London and London In The Raw.
