Thanks, 'nice', I wanted that; but play.com doesn't ship to USA. I hope the amazon.uk copy is at least region free. This week's Highlander is steel and 'all' from UK. I have to get connected for these things.
Anybody know if the JBond steels will return, Got 9 and they stopped.
Appreciate the solid evidence. Good luck!

i watched it yesterday, audio was very good. wasn't too impressed with the picture, not bad and no issues with it, just would have liked better. didn't feel the detail was too strong, same with the colors and depth. average i'd say, extra's aren't too impressive either. film was excellent as always though.

Mine arrived just before a very busy weekend, so I watched it last night while finally getting some me time.

The PQ is OK and an upgrade from the various DVD releases I have. It's by no means perfect and there are quite a lot of scenes where it looks like the original film is pretty rough or not quite focused right. Many of the painted backdrops show up more with the increase in resolution but they are not offensive to the eye. In a couple of places the increased resolution made more sense of the story, where small background details are now visible as opposed to the SD versions. AQ was good, the mix seemingly the same as the Region 3 DVD I have - this is the version I have tended to watch more that the Region 2 PAL one I have.

Oh, there is what appears to be EE around faces at the start, whether this is really there or just my eyes translating very 3D effects to over sharpening, I don't know. Once you get into the story, as usual, this becomes less imposing.

One change, to my memory, is the subtitles. The dialogue is quite different to what I remember. But then again every version I have seen has a different set of subs. Not sure if they have been re-translated for the BluRay release or that I have just not watched the UK Region 2 release enough in the past.

Basically, well worth the update from SD but could maybe have done better source material allowing.

I got mine today from Blahdvd. It's the same steelbook version. Arrived in perfect condition. I had no time to take a look yet.

Hmmmm - very interesting.

I think this points to very poor marketing on the side of the retailers in the UK.

Seems like amazon.co.uk and other websites do have a steelbook edition - but show an amaray.

This is going to get really confusing for folks if they order from an online retailer thinking it's a steelbook and get an amaray - after all, the way we were able to tell in the past was when the retailer changed the description / picture.

Can't do that now.

Amazon.uk is sending steelbooks of Crouching Tiger and it is all region
Amazon.uk is sending steelbooks of Highlander and it is all region ( tho box marked 'B')

seems a chore to get the facts clear; anywhere
