Default Monsters Inc. (UK) July 27

I didn't notice a thread about this, but I thought some people might be interested. It's available for pre-order on most UK sites.

Unfortunately, the only Pixar Disney UK release was Cars, so it will most-likely be region locked.

Amazon UK
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Monsters-Inc...VQ003F7WP4G3EQ

Play.com
http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/8...-/Product.html

*EDIT* Whoops.. this should probably get moved to the import forum. *

We also have Wall-E, Ratatouille and the Pixar Shorts on Blu Ray over here just for the record. Cars and the Shorts are region free where as Wall-E and Ratatouille were locked so its fairly random.

Have no fear amazon.jp has Monsters Inc for sale right now and Japan is Region A.

Oh, I know.. but I have a hard time justifying the $50 US for it.

The UK one is only $23 US.

I wonder if this July release of Monsters Inc. in the UK will really happen? When the US scheduled May release was bumped it was said it would likely be release late in 2009, but according to Bill Hunt, it's been moved off into 2010 -

Quote:
Rumor Mill 6/18/09 (UPDATED 6/19/09)

The following titles have been moved into 2010 (or later, or were already tentatively set for 2010)...

To Live and Die in L.A. (MGM - Feb), Alien Quadrilogy, more Rogers & Hammerstein musicals (Fox - 2010), The Indiana Jones Trilogy, Chinatown, Flashdance (Paramount - TBA 2010), Ben-Hur, King Kong, Goonies (Warner Bros. - TBD - note that Goonies sees its 25th anniversary in 2010), Toy Story 1 & 2, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, Destino, Beauty and the Beast (Disney - TBA 2010), Back to the Future Trilogy (Universal - strongly rumored, as 2010 marks the original film's 25th anniversary)
Walt Disney is listed for the studio on the Amazon UK listing; it would be really strange for Disney to release Monsters Inc in the UK in July and not in the US until sometime in 2010.

And HMV has a listing for it, same price of £13.99.

The Japanese release of Monsters inc. Is by Pixar / Disney as well and it's region free so if they are consistent globally then the other regional releases would likely be region free also. Don't know if other regions get the releases postponed like U.S. but since it did come out in Japan I guess it could come out this year in various other countries too.

If the UK one does end up being regionfree, I'm all over it. Monsters Inc is my favorite Pixar film. I was so disappointed when the US disc was postponed.

Well, since Cars (a catalog title) was region free in the UK while the Region B locked Wall-E & Ratatouille were new releases, there is a chance.

Regardless, I have both a PS3 & LG BH200 so I went ahead and pre-ordered a copy. I'll report back about the region coding when I get it.

You shouldn't be amazed. It's already out in Region A. You can purchase it in Mexico now.
