No English subs so it's only going to interest those of us who don't mind that too much.

It comes in a first edition exclusive packaging (at the moment), it contains the main movie disc (BD DL) and extras disc (BD SL) in separate digipaks and a 48 page color booklet.

That "International Licensing" page is quite informative. I suppose there will be an international release later somewhere and the external subs will probably become available but may take time...

I watched this the other night and enjoyed it as a light-hearted "educational comedy". I could follow the story pretty well without English subs, didn't feel like I missed much with my level 2 Japanese

The movie takes quite a lot of time to show how various workers co-operate at the airport and inside the aeroplane to make things work and to handle a problematic situation. It's a bit like an educational film in that sense as a lot of work roles are shown with some level of detail that an outsider might not have any knowledge of. Somehow reminds me of various educational TV programs that are popular in Japan. The 2nd set of Japanese subs on the discs actually present explanations of airport / airline related special terminology when such words come up in the movie so that adds to the educational feel, I actually chose to watch the movie with that 2nd set of subs though I couldn't read all the terminology explanations very well due to complex kanji characters.

On the other hand, the story itself doesn't really grow into a very engaging one as the movie is not that long and none of the characters get very much screentime or room for growth / chance of involving the viewer more deeply. I enjoyed watching the movie in a way that one enjoys an interesting documentary, but it didn't leave a very strong impression storywise and it's hard to really feel for the characters. Swing Girls is better in that regard. Anyhow, I didn't feel bored at any point and the movie kept a level of interest throughout, but it doesn't really invite for repeated viewings.

PQ was decent, not ultra-sharp but film-like and looked to be transparent to the source. Fairly natural colors without any special enhancement or contrast boosting. AQ was good as well.

Can be recommended at least for the fans of the director and those who want to know what goes on in an airport / plane behind the curtains
